Psalm 17:6-8

With its old language and confusing references, it can feel irrelevant or disconnected. Itโ€™s Been a Hard Week

So, itโ€™s been a hard week. But itโ€™s one of those weeks where you canโ€™t really explain why itโ€™s been hard. Nothing big has happened. Itโ€™s been packed with all of the normal, run-of-the-mill stressors.ย 

But it just feels harder this time around. Youโ€™re super tired, and running short on patience. โ€ฆand where on earth did this headache come from?

Psalm 17:6โ€“8

6 I call on you, my God, for you will answer me;

ย ย ย ย turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.

7 Show me the wonders of your great love,

ย ย ย ย you who save by your right hand

ย ย ย ย those who take refuge in you from their foes.

8 Keep me as the apple of your eye;

ย ย ย ย hide me in the shadow of your wings

Observations from the Text

  • God listens to our needs (v. 6)
  • He hears our prayers (v. 6)
  • Godโ€™s love is full of wonders (v. 7)
  • We can take cover under Godโ€™s wings (v. 8)

Lord, I praise you because even though _________ feels overwhelming to me right now, I can take cover under your wings!

Today, I will keep my eyes open to experience the โ€œwonders of your great loveโ€ because _________.
