SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE
Jude 1:1-2 “Is the Bible relevant today?” This can sometimes be a question we ask ourselves when reading the Bible. So, we compiled Scripture meditations like this one to help see reasons why the Bible is relevant, and to help us connect with God.
My Identity Is in Christ
Do you know your personality type? Which test did you take? Maybe you’d rather know which combination of Taylor Swift songs you are based on your usual order at your favorite coffee shop. (Trust me, there’s a quiz for everything).
Personality tests can teach us helpful new things about ourselves and each other, and help us grow and identify our strengths. Some of them are just downright fun. But they also have their limits. They can’t give us purpose, hope, or security. These things come from God, and knowing who you are as God’s child far exceeds knowing which houseplant most represents you.
The opening greeting in the book of Jude is just one of the many places in the Bible where you can be assured of who God says you are. Your truest identity isn’t based on your behavior, your motives, or whatever mood you might be in today; it’s rooted in Jesus’s sacrifice for you, and the everlasting love of our Heavenly Father.
Jude 1:1-2
“To those who have been called, who are loved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ: Mercy, peace, and love be yours in abundance.”
