Maybe it came from an inside joke, a perfectly timed meme, a comment that caught you off guard in the best way, or a story that somehow gets funnier every time you tell it.
Laughter is a gift. It lightens the moment, connects us to the people we love, and reminds us that joy isn’t just a passing feeling—it’s a glimpse of God’s goodness. Even in the hardest seasons, he gives us glimpses of joy, moments of laughter that remind us we are loved and invited to delight in life.

God of Joy, you’re the source of all good things—including the moments that make me laugh so hard my stomach hurts. Thank you for the friends, family, silly stories, and ridiculous things that bring a smile to my face. Laughter is such a small thing, and yet it holds so much goodness. Help me remember these moments, especially when life feels heavy. Let joy be something I don’t just wait for, but something I look for—because you are always near, and your presence brings light, even to the darkest days. Let my laughter be full and free, not just for my own enjoyment, but as a reflection of your goodness to those around me. Thank you for being a God who delights in joy. Amen.
