Reading the Bible is an important part of how we can grow in our faith, but we know many people question why the Bible is not relevant for today. With its old language and confusing references, it can feel irrelevant or disconnected. But these Scripture meditations are meant to help you bridge that disconnect and encounter reasons why the Bible IS relevant.

“I’m Going to Push Through”

The alarm buzzes, the coffee brews, you throw on clothes, the kids won’t get their shoes on…finally you get out the door and in the car—oh… and you realize you didn’t get to your morning devo for the fourth day in a row now.

We’re told to just “push through” these busy mornings, that it’s okay, and tomorrow is a new day… which is true, buuut that doesn’t always stop the feelings of shame and worry in the moment about neglecting our time with Jesus. It feels like our faith is growing tired. We feel we aren’t connecting with Jesus when we grow too busy, but also in moments we’re supposed to be connecting with him, we feel detached.

Growing weary in your faith is normal, we all feel it sometimes. But how do we re-ignite that desire?

Jesus gives us a path to God, and through his example, we learn what faith looks like and how to grow closer with God. Join us in this Scripture meditation.

Hebrews 12:1-2A

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses,

let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily

entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”
