A simple prayer is all it takes to connect with God everyday. And if you don’t know how to pray, no worries! We’ve got you covered. Check out this simple prayer below to get started!

How to Love People Who Are Hard to Love

Who’s the person in your life who rubs you the wrong way? Who gets under your skin? Who’s just flat out irritating?!

We all have those people in our lives. And maybe “enemy” is a strong word for that person, but they are definitely not a friend. When you find yourself wondering how to love people who are hard to love, there’s really only one answer.

God help us.

Because here’s the difficult truth—the kind of truth that, well, none of us really want to hear…

Jesus not only invites us to love our enemies, but also to pray for them! And not just to pray for them to be less irritating, but to pray for them to discover the true life and love God offers.

“But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:44).

If you’re like us, and this doesn’t really feel like the best news right now (especially because you’re thinking about going to church this week and running into that person again), maybe pray this prayer with us, as we ask God to help us love the people who are really difficult to love.

A Prayer for Loving Your Enemies

Suffering Servant, who experienced the worst human beings had to offer, yet presented love and forgiveness to your enemies, help me love and forgive [name]. Help me to be slow to anger, and patient. Help me not return evil with evil or insult with insult, but to do good to those who are tough to be around. And over time, transform my negative feelings toward [name] into love that desires what’s best for her. Amen.
