SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE

Do you ever read Scripture and find yourself wondering, “is the Bible relevant today?” We definitely feel that disconnect. So we’ve set out to make Scripture meditations that give us a framework for how to start reading the Bible. Join us as we let the Bible be the Bible, and learn to engage with it meaningfully.

Everything Is in God’s Hands

There’s a unique kind of anticipation when you’re stuck waiting to hear about something big—something that’ll impact your future in a real way. You could be waiting to hear back from a school or program you’ve applied to, a new job…or maybe you finally went for it and told that “just friend” how you really feel (I like you, do you like me? Check “yes” or “I think so”).

In any case, with big questions about your future unanswered, now is as good a time as any to remind yourself that ultimately, everything is in God’s hand.

Check out today’s Scripture meditation about “committing your way to the Lord,” and find some peace in the midst of uncertainty!

Psalm 37:5-6

5 Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.

What This Teaches Us about God

  • The Lord wants you to come to him (v. 5)
  • He’s worthy of our trust (v. 5)
  • He is faithful (v. 6)
  • He loves to give you good things (v. 6)

Prayers of Response

Heavenly Father, when it comes to _________, I admit that I never truly consulted you to try to understand how your good plan for me might be different from my own.

I praise you because in the past, despite my doubt and/or seasons of uncertainty, you came through for me and provided _________.

Prayer Requests

Lord, when it comes to waiting for _________ to happen, please help me trust in you (and in your good plan!).

Father, please help _________ (name) to patiently wait for your vindication when it comes to _________.

Prayers of Readiness

Even though I don’t know how to do it perfectly, when it comes to _________, I will commit my “way” to you!

Today, even though _________ feels really unfair, I choose to trust that someday soon, good things will come for those who are faithful to you.
