Reading the Bible is a fantastic way to connect with God. However, it can be hard to know how to start reading the Bible. So, we put together some Scripture meditations to help you get started reading Scripture

How to Become Strong

It’s one of the worst feelings. Weakness. And everything around us tells us it’s something we’re supposed to fight. Yet, several people who were in positions of weakness became some of the most memorable biblical figures, known for the amazing things they did for God’s story. Samson and David are two on the list. They were made strong. They didn’t start strong. When they were low, feeling weak and full of regret, God took them and made them strong so they could help his people.

Being in a position of weakness can actually be the start of strength. An open heart and a humble spirit can allow for God’s amazing transformation.

Hebrews 1:32-34

“32 And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, 33 who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies.”

Observations from the Text

  • These powerful figures started in weakness (v. 34)
  •  God worked in them through faith (v. 34)
  •  Because of God’s work, they could do amazing things for God’s people (v. 33)
