SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE

A great way to spend Lent with Jesus is by diving into some good Christian music. Check below for an audience song recommendation, and enjoy today’s Lent study through music!

Journey Through Lent, Day 33

Waiting for just about anything is tough! Christmas. Vacation. A job offer to come in. An acceptance letter. A paycheck. The right someone. The weekend. A baby. A diagnosis. Healing. Anything.

And we know that God has his perfect plan set out for us, so why is it so hard to wait on God?

Waiting only gets harder when it feels like God has left us to wait on our own. We struggle to believe he’s hearing our prayers. This is a song we’re pulling out because sometimes, putting words to our frustration (or desperation) is just what we need.

Listen along with us today as we continue looking at the topic of “waiting” this lenten season with this soulful, rhythmic song/prayer.

Featured Song

Scripture

“Wait for the Lord;  be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord” (Psalm 27:14).

Reflect

Listen to the song, and then take a few moments to reflect on what you’re waiting for, anxious about, or trying to control. Consider writing these things down in a journal. After you name them, reflect on the goodness of God and his love for you. Tell him, in prayer, how difficult it’s been to trust him with these things and ask him for help.
