SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE

The prayer life of a Christian can sometimes become tiresome, especially if you don’t feel like praying at the end of the day. We hope our simple prayers centered around everyday life will provide some guidance and help you grow in your prayer life.

Choosing God’s Peace

Feeling stressed, a little weary, or somewhat unsettled?

There are lots of Bible verses on having peace of mind, filled with reminders of the provision of God’s peace. Here’s one of our favorites:

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).

Think about what is most threatening your peace of mind today, and consider praying through these words:

A Prayer to God for Peace of Mind

Peacemaker and Peace Giver, you invite all who are weary to find rest, and you guard the hearts and minds of the stressed. I offer to you___________, the source of my mental and emotional anguish. Take my anxiousness as a broken sacrifice of trust in your faithful provision. Teach me to be dependent without worry. Use the unsettledness in my spirit to dislodge the things I put false security in. And grant me a deep breath of your peace that passes understanding. Amen.
