SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE

“Is the Bible relevant today?” Stories from hundreds of years ago, weird names, suuuuper long chapters. It doesn’t always feel relevant. But to read Scripture is another way for God to provide comfort, clarity, and wisdom. Scripture meditations like this one can help you figure out how to get started reading the Bible.

It’s Hard to Think

Feeling scatterbrained and distracted? YES. There are so many different things calling for our attention– social media, exercise, diet, mental health, work, friends, and family… just to name a few 😩.

It’s easy to lose sight of our God, the center and sustainer of it all.

Romans 12 reminds us that God’s mercy to us is 𝕤𝕠 great, the best thing we can offer in return is our lives. Verse 2 shows us practically how to do that– it starts with the way we think, what we give our attention to, and where our focus lies.

Romans 12:2

2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Observations from the Text

  • We should see some things differently from the world
  • The way we think can change our lives
  • As we’re renewed, we can begin to discern God’s will
  • God’s will is good!
