God Blessed Me

What joys and blessings have been filling your weeks lately?

Sometimes, it’s hard to see the good things in life. It’s like our glasses for seeing blessings are foggy. But then there are the times where we just feel really thankful. Our hearts feel overwhelmed by the generosity and goodness God has shown us and we nearly explode, exclaiming, “God Blessed Me!”

Maybe you’re feeling the “God Blessed Me! Mood today, or maybe you’re not. But in this meditation, we’re sitting with that gratitude, and praising God.

Psalm 9:1–2

1 I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.

Observations from the Text

  • Our hearts can praise God (v. 1) 
  • Giving thanks includes sharing about God’s goodness (v. 1)
  • In relationship with God, we can be glad! (v. 2)
  • God is the “Most High” (v. 2)

Father, you have so generously blessed me by _________, and I want to praise you for it!

God, I know that I tend to dwell on what isn’t right in my life, like _________, and don’t often get excited about the good things, like _________. Help me to recognize them both!
