Godโ€™s Big Love

Have you ever thought about how tiny we are as humans? A weird question, but seriously, think about it.ย 

To us, the Earth seems huge. But actually, 1.3 million Earths could fit inside the Sun.ย 

And if you think the Sun is super huge, get this: 3.7 billion Suns could fit inside of a single star named UY Scuti.ย 

Woah. Weโ€™re so small in this gigantic universe that God created! Yet, the same God who created the entire universe, with planets hundreds of times larger than ours, and stars billions of times bigger than our Sun, cares about YOU.ย 

He cares about that promotion, that math test, how you felt when your friends didnโ€™t invite you out. All of these things that seem so, so small in comparison to everything God created? He fully loves and cares about them.

Psalm 8:3โ€“4

3 When I consider your heavens,

ย ย the work of your fingers,

the moon and the stars,

ย ย ย ย which you have set in place,

4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them,

ย ย human beings that you care for them?

 

Observations from the text

  • God created the whole universe (v. 3)
  • God had a plan in mind for all of his creation (v. 3)
  • God loves us so much; even though we are so so small (v. 4)

Prayers of Response

God, because there is so much happening in this world, I often feel forgotten and struggle to believe that you have time for _________.

Lord, I feel so small and insignificant because of _________. Show me that you know me, and that you care.

Prayers of Requests

Father God, help me to see how you fully planned _________ in my life and that you have a perfect path for me.

Lord, help me to trust you with _________ and to not feel so small in this big big world.

Prayers of Readiness

Father, I know that you know me perfectly. Today, I need your help to showย  _________ (name) that you know and love them too!

God, I am ready to move forward with you and _________ to make an impact in this giant world.
