SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE

Knowing how to get started reading the Bible can be tricky. But don’t get discouraged! No matter how far you’ve come in your faith, everyone has struggled with reading the Bible at some point. That’s why we put together some Scripture meditations like this one to help you get started.

When the Night Seems Too Dark

When was the last time you found yourself up at night? When sleep escapes you, it’s easy for the mind to begin to wander in the darkness, restless from the worries and uncertainties of the day.

Psalm 77 comes to us in the dead of night, from a place of desperation and fear. Sometimes, we can’t be certain of what God is doing… but we can always be certain of who God is. God is trustworthy. God keeps his promises. And, when the night seems too dark, we have examples of his provision to look back on, just like the Psalmist. We can feel confident that God is working in our lives now, even in the midst of confusion, uncertainty, and fear.

Psalm 77:11-12

11 “I will remember the deeds of the Lord;

   yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.

12 I will consider all your works

and meditate on all your mighty deeds.”

Observations from the Text
