SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE

Scripture meditations like this one help us connect with God each day and help us recognize reasons why the Bible is relevant today.

A Song of Praise

Try to imagine life without music. It’d be incredibly different from the life we know. No songwriting. No concerts. No emotional singing in the car. So many core parts of the human experience are tied up with music.

Similarly, so much of our lives are shaped by what we know about God. God is wise and just, loving and merciful. He’s worthy of praise. He’s good

Try to imagine a life where that isn’t the case. After all, God didn’t have to be good. He didn’t have to give us his Word or care about our lives.

Yet he did, and he does. This thought experiment ends with gratitude that God is the way he is. ☺️

Join us in reflecting on who God says he is with an excerpt from Psalms:

Psalm 33:3-5

3 Sing to [the Lord] a new song;

play skillfully, and shout for joy.

4 For the word of the Lord is right and true;

he is faithful in all he does.

5 The Lord loves righteousness and justice;

the earth is full of his unfailing love.

Observations from the Text

  • Making music/being joyful are ways to honor God (v. 3)
  • God is always faithful, and his word is trustworthy (v. 4)
  • God will not neglect justice (v. 5)
  • God shows his love to us on earth (v. 5)
