SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE

The prayer life of a Christian can sometimes become tiresome, especially if you don’t feel like praying at the end of the day. We hope our simple prayers centered around everyday life will provide some guidance and help you grow in your prayer life.

Walking in Your God Given Purpose

“Another day. Another dollar.”

But also: another day of doing almost the same things as yesterday. And those are things you don’t really enjoy that much (or at least not as much as you used to). Maybe you’re like us and often find yourself thinking, “I wish I could live a more exciting life.”

Yep! Been there…probably will be there tomorrow too.

God is a God of adventure and creativity, and he desires for us to discover purpose and experience the good life he offers. But he also helps us decipher when we’ve bought into lies about what the “exciting life” is supposed to look like, and he wants to free us from unhealthy expectations that lead to discontentment.

Sooooo…when we need a reset for what it means to live the exciting life, here’s what we’ve been praying lately:

A Prayer for When You Want to Live a More Exciting Life

Mountain-maker, Ocean-tamer, who laid the foundations of the earth and walked in the recesses of the deep, who gives us purpose and desire, and satisfies us with good things…Meet me in the mundane. Open my eyes to see your purpose in my daily routine. Settle my restless spirit when it leads to discontentment, and deconstruct any unhealthy pictures of the “exciting life.” Help me to trust that I’m where you have me for today, and may I find contentment through Christ who gives me strength. Amen.

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13
