Reclaim Lent Day 28: “Give Me Your Eyes” by Brandon Heath

SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE

1 Peter 3:8 As we explore how to observe Lent, we’ve decided to get creative with devotional songs—because who doesn’t like to connect with God through music? Spruce up your Lent journey by tuning into the audience song recommendation below and then listen along to some good Christian music!

Journey Through Lent, Day 28

God is the giver of all good gifts. But have you ever tried to discover your God given gifts?

Maybe you sing, or write, or dance…maybe you’re a technical genius and get to be the unofficial IT helpline for anyone with your phone number saved. But also, you might not do any of those things. Because God-given gifts don’t require a specific “talent.”

Some gifts from God can be something you feel passionate about: helping the poor, serving in children’s ministry, or stewardship of the Earth.

Today, we’re taking a few minutes to listen to a song that challenges us to see the world through God’s loving eyes, and catch some chances that we might be missing to love and serve others. It’s called, “Give Me Your Eyes,” and if you were anywhere near a church in the early 2000s, we’re sure it’ll ring a bell.

Scripture

“Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble” (1 Peter 3:8).

Reflect

When it comes to serving others, what are you “go-tos?” You know—your favorite/most common ways to serve others (or your community). If you ever struggle with knowing how to serve others, ask God to open your eyes this week to a new opportunity!
