Isaiah 41:10

If you don’t know how to pray, getting started can feel strange. So, check out this simple prayer to help you grow in your prayer life, and connect with God today!

Calm My Anxious Heart

Maybe it’s just having more and more responsibilities. Maybe it’s the constant access to news, with the brokenness of our world on full display. Or, maybe today everything is just going wrong. Whatever the trigger, anxious thoughts can soon begin a full-scale takeover, and the mind spirals out of control, whether the worries are rational or not…

When your chest begins to feel tight and you’re finding it hard to breathe, returning to a point of calm seems almost impossible. Let these words of hope gently replace the voice of fear running rampant in your mind.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).

Here is a prayer to calm anxiety to help ground you during these moments of worry.

A Prayer to Calm Anxiety

Prince of Peace, I know that your perfect love casts out all fear, but right now I’m overrun and undone by the “what ifs” and worst-case scenarios. Allow me to breathe in your promises and breathe out your spirit of truth. Banish my anxieties and give me strength to cling to you, Caregiver of Creation, who clothes even the flowers and holds the world in your hands. Amen.
