SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE

The Christian prayer life can sometimes feel stale. It doesn’t mean your faith is weak, or that you’re doing something wrong—so don’t get hung up on it! It just happens. But if you want to connect with God and don’t know how to pray, or simply don’t feel like praying…then these everyday prayers are for you.

Spring Is a New Beginning

Juuust when you’re wondering if you can stand one more SECOND of winter, signs of life begin to crop up. From a green bud peaking up beneath a dusting of snow, a sleepy creature venturing out of its winter den, or your neighbor preemptively pulling out his favorite strappy sandals… you’re suddenly hit by the relief of knowing that spring is right around the corner.

Sure, there’s much to be gleaned from the stillness and beauty of the winter, but right now, we’re done with it, too. 🙏🌱

Here’s a prayer for those of us whose hearts are made light during this changing of the seasons:

“See! The winter is past;

    the rains are over and gone.

 Flowers appear on the earth;

    the season of singing has come…” (Song of Solomon 2:11-12a).

A Prayer for Spring

God of fawns and flowers, your glory is revealed through each season. As winter recedes, the story of renewal unfolds once again. Through mud and muck, give us eyes to see the quiet beauty of awakening creation. Might each bud whisper the truths of your faithfulness. May each new life bring with it promises of eternity. Amen.
