SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE

Trying to build a prayer life can be difficult—whether you don’t know how to pray or you don’t feel like praying. So we’re here to help you connect with God with simple prayers for the everyday.

An Easter Sunday Prayer

Today, we join Christians around the world in declaring a truth that has been spoken for literally thousands of years.

Christ is risen!

He is risen indeed!

What great news! These two statements capture so much more than just a historical fact about a guy who lived in Israel around AD33. These statements suggest the new Kingdom has come, and is coming. These statements are the down payment on the promise that God’s begun the work of making all sad things untrue. With these statements, even death—the great enemy of us all—is found to not be as powerful or absolute as the world once thought. As we once thought. Resurrection power is alive and real, and today we celebrate it!

“It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon” (Luke 24:34).

If you’re like us—amazed by this idea, but still unsure about how it impacts you—join us in this prayer for Easter Sunday.

A Prayer for Resurrection Sunday

Jesus, evil could not defeat you, sin could not overcome you, and death could not keep you in the grave. Your throne was a cross and your glory an empty tomb. Savior King, help me die to those malformed ideas of the good life. Resurrect me into the way of true joy, peace, hope, and love. May your new life fill me with new life. Christ, you are risen indeed, and in you, so am I! Amen.

The role of prayer in Christian life is powerful and helps us in our mission to creatively explore how we connect with God in the ordinary, extraordinary, everyday moments of life. For more everyday prayers, visit this page!
