A simple prayer is all it takes to connect with God every day. And if you donโ€™t know how to pray, no worries! Weโ€™ve got you covered. Check out this simple prayer below to get started!ย

I Feel Like Iโ€™m All Alone

There are times in life when you looong for peace and quiet. When youโ€™re working on a huge project. After a giant family gathering. When youโ€™re constantly being interrupted while trying to finish up something. Time alone is like drinking from a fresh springโ€“ rejuvenating, life-giving. Itโ€™s strange how alone time can start to feel so different, so quickly.

You begin to long for the presence of others instead. Or, even worseโ€“ maybe you are around other people, but youโ€™re still left feeling disconnected and discouraged.

Adult relationships are no longer as simple as becoming bffs with someone on the playground just because you like their light-up shoesโ€“ though, wouldnโ€™t that be nice (still being able to wear light-up shoes, I mean)? (or, even better, Heelys.)

Time alone can be used to draw nearer to the one who created youโ€“ who knows you better than any other. Who wants nothing more than to be closer to you. But, itโ€™s still okay to tell him whatโ€™s on your heart and to ask him to provide the friendships you desire.

If youโ€™re in a season of loneliness, hereโ€™s a prayer to ask God to walk alongside you through this time, but also to send some chums your way!

โ€œAnd surely I am with you always, to the very end of the ageโ€ (Matt 28:20b).

A Prayer for Loneliness

Lord of the wilderness, I know you often sought time alone, but in this season of my life, Iโ€™m just feeling really isolated and lonely. Friend, Jesus, I know that you are here with me, but it doesnโ€™t always seem like it. Help me to use this time to seek you more intimately. But also, help me to find a community and companions to share my life withโ€“ my joys and my sufferings. While I wait, Lord, help me to not fear being alone, but to embrace a time to sit with you in quiet togetherness and learn to draw comfort from your presence. Amen.
