SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE

A simple prayer is all it takes to connect with God everyday. And if you don’t know how to pray, no worries! We’ve got you covered. Check out this simple prayer below to get started!

God Dwells in His Creation

“In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land” (Psalm 95:4-5).

Fresh air. A breeze. Standing in a moving river with a fly pole.

Watching a sunset over the mountains. Sleeping in a tent. SMORES! The outdoors aren’t for everyone, but if you’re still reading this, they’re probably for you!

What is it about nature that can make the world feel okay again? Why do worries and anxious thoughts flow away when a Copper John is on the end of a fly line? Could it be that for some of us creation makes us feel closest to our Creator? Is there something that’s, well, just right about being outside?

So if you’re one of those people that comes to life when you’re surrounded by trees or mountains or trout… this prayer is for you.

A Prayer for Experiencing God in Nature

Creator God, at the beginning of time your voice brought light into the darkness. Your hands shaped dry land. Your creativity exploded in colors and shapes and smells. And your breath brought life to all creatures. As I step outside, may I discover the light of your presence, hear your purpose-giving voice of direction, and be amazed and inspired by your creativity. And as I breathe in fresh air, may you fill me with the breath of your Spirit who brings me true peace, rest, and strength. Amen.
