A Prayer for Wisdom

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE

Psalm 111:10

The prayer life of a Christian can sometimes become tiresome, especially if you don’t feel like praying. We hope our simple prayers centered around everyday life will provide some guidance and help you grow in your prayer life.

Wisdom for Life

There’s no shortage of opinions out there… on the news, in group chats, on podcasts, and TikTok. When we’re faced with big decisions or trying to come up with our own ideas (even small ones), it can be hard to know which voice to listen to. But true wisdom doesn’t just come from information—it begins with knowing God.

Scripture calls us to seek the Lord first, to listen to his ways, and to let his truth shape how we think, speak, and live. That kind of wisdom isn’t flashy, but it’s steady. It doesn’t always give instant answers, but it roots us in something eternal.

So, whether you’re making a decision, navigating uncertainty, or just trying to move forward in a confusing world, here’s a prayer and a Scripture for asking God to guide you with his wisdom.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;

all who follow his precepts have good understanding.

To him belongs eternal praise” (Psalm 111:10).

A Prayer for Wisdom

Wise and faithful God, you hold the knowledge of the ages and the wisdom I need today. Remind me that true understanding begins with knowing you. Teach me to walk in your ways, to value your truth above quick answers or clever words. When I feel pulled in a hundred directions, center me in your word. When others speak loudly, tune my ears to your quiet guidance. May your wisdom shape my thoughts, my words, and my actions. Lead me, Lord, into understanding and trust. Amen.
