Trying to build a prayer life can be difficultโwhether you donโt know how to pray or you donโt feel like praying. So weโre here to help you connect with God with simple prayers for the everyday.
The Future Is Scary?
Itโs so easy to be overwhelmed by what hasnโt happened yet. Sometimes thinking about the future is exciting because thatโs where our dreams can come true. But oftentimes, itโs stressful to think about whatโs to come. The future can fill us with anxious worry.
It can be encouraging to read Bible verses about time and the future, like Ecclesiastes 3:11:
โHe has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.โ
But sometimes, itโs hard for the truth that Godโs got it all under control to really sink in. Maybe youโre already convinced the future IS scary. Or maybe, you havenโt yet realized, โI am worried about the future,โ but now that we said something (sorry about that) itโs clear that the unknowns of tomorrow are affecting today.
Either way, we wanted to invite you to join us in praying this โprayer for when I am worried about the future.โ
A Prayer for When I Am Worried about the Future
Time Maker, Time Giverโwho fashioned the rhythm of the seasons, and gives us the gift of lifeโhelp me trust in the goodness of the story you are writing from beginning to end. When Iโm worried about my needs, remind me of your faithful provision. When Iโm worried about tomorrow, bring me back to your presence with me today. And when I canโt escape the anxiousness of what could come, pour out your peace in my heart and mind. Amen.
