How to Face Challenges of Life

Letโ€™s be people who face challenges of life head-on, and who walk through them with integrity, grit, and a whole lot of love.ย

Dive with us into Danielโ€™s take on how to face challenges of life, as he also gets to the heart of why Christianity is relevant today. Itโ€™s a big important question for us here at Reclaim Today…and we hope for you too.

Scripture: โ€œWho then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who diedโ€”more than that, who was raised to lifeโ€”is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for usโ€ฆNo, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved usโ€ (Romans 8:34, 37).

Written by Daniel Hamlin

โ€œImmortality simply as immortality is irrelevant to the Christian claim.โ€ C.S. Lewis (Miracles).

As I read this somewhat hard to understand sentence from Christian writer C. S. Lewis, I couldnโ€™t help but pause. Almost all religions believe in the afterlife in some fashion. Lewis reminds us that Christianity would be no different if all it offered was a promise of immortality. Christianity offers a hope that is relevant for today, for our present life. Because of Jesusโ€™ resurrection and because heโ€™s alive today, our lives are changed here and now.ย

The apostle Paul gets to the heart of the matter in Romans 8 when he states that we are more than conquerors in whatever this life may throw at us (v. 37). Whatever trial we face today, Paul says our hope in Jesus wonโ€™t let us down. The fact that Jesus is alive means that heโ€™s with us in whatever circumstance weโ€™re in. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is the power that now works and moves in our lives. Paul says that since death could not conquer Jesus, then thereโ€™s nothing in our lives we canโ€™t overcome when we place our hope in him.

Why It Matters

Whether youโ€™re longing for the redemption of your past, comfort in your present circumstances, or guidance for your future, your hope is not in some long dead historical figure, or a distant, eternal being with whom itโ€™s impossible to have a relationship. Even if you face tragedy, failure, or injustice, you can have hope because Jesusโ€™ presence is real, because Godโ€™s love is so powerful that nothing can separate us from it, and because his love and presence sustains us through anything we face in this life.
