SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE

Trying to build a prayer life can be difficult—whether you don’t know how to pray or you don’t feel like praying. So we’re here to help you connect with God with simple prayers for the everyday.

“Why Do I Feel So Exhausted When I Wake Up?”

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).

When was the last time you asked someone the question, “How are you?” And they responded, “Good. But busy.” Or maybe just, “Busy!”

When was the last time you answered the same way?

All the time.

Ya, us too. It almost always feels like there’s too much going on.

What’s the deal with busyness these days? It’s almost like an addiction—something that has taken over our lives and we can’t get away from. Even when we try to say, “No” and slow down a bit, after a while we’re right back to being overcommitted, overworked, restless, stressed out, and down-right anxious about everything!

Well when you get to that spot again, here’s the prayer we wrote for ourselves for when there’s too much going on. We hope it helps you too!

A Prayer for When There’s Too Much Going On

Limitless God, who gave us limits for our own good and protection, help me embrace my God-given limits and discover a healthy rhythm of work and rest. Peace-giver, who relieves anxiousness and offers us peace in the midst of crazy, please give me peace that won’t make sense in the midst of my somewhat self-imposed craziness. Loving Father, who offers rest for our weary souls, help me know when it’s okay to say, “no,” and to be faithful in all the tasks before me today. Amen.

We believe a simple prayer like this helps us in our mission to creatively explore how we connect with God in the ordinary, extraordinary, everyday moments of life. For more everyday prayers, visit this page
