SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE

“Is the Bible relevant today?” Stories from hundreds of years ago, weird names, suuuuper long chapters. It doesn’t always feel relevant. But to read Scripture is another way for God to provide comfort, clarity, and wisdom. Scripture meditations like this one can help you figure out how to get started reading the Bible.

Remembering God’s Peace

Written by McKenzie Mitchell

Peace from God never leaves, even in the moments where it’s difficult to feel. Our peace comes from being a child of God, and it can protect us against people that might challenge our faith.

God is our peace. He has the power to speak peace inside of our souls in moments when we are filled with fear and doubt or when our values are challenged. Reminding ourselves of what we know to be true can help us cling to his peace.

God’s truth is unbreakable, meaning we don’t have to fear in the face of dissent. This assurance allows us to be confident in our choices and actions when they reflect his will. We don’t have to be afraid of what people might say because the peace of God protects us and brings mental clarity and wisdom.

2 Thessalonians 3:2-3,16

“Pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one…Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.”
