A Prayer of Hope for a Friend

SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE

Psalm 16:11 The Christian prayer life can sometimes feel stale. It doesn’t mean your faith is weak, or that you’re doing something wrong—so don’t get hung up on it! It just happens. But if you want to connect with God and don’t know how to pray, or simply don’t feel like praying…then these everyday prayers are for you.

How to Pray for a Friend

Maybe praying for others comes naturally to you, or maybe you’re the type that has to set reminders (no shame!).

Either way, wanting to pray for someone doesn’t always translate to knowing how to pray for a friend.

Honestly, we’re convinced that simply bringing your desire to pray for someone to God counts (after all, he knows what they need). But if you’re looking for some specific words, check out this prayer of hope for a friend:

A Prayer of Hope for a Friend

Giver of Joy, you made a way for [my friend] to experience abundant life. But they’re struggling to find hope right now. Present God, your nearness is the greatest pleasure in life. Would you show [my friend] first-hand how true this is? Bless them with the joy of being in your presence. Show them how hope and hard things can go hand-in-hand. And please, make yourself known to them today. Amen.

“You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand” (Psalm 16:11).
