SCRIPTURE REFERENCE
The prayer life of a Christian can sometimes become tiresome, especially if you don’t feel like praying. We hope our simple prayers centered around everyday life will provide some guidance and help you grow in your prayer life.
Trying to Stick to a Budget
Budgeting can stir up a lot of feelings—stress, anxiety, guilt, or maybe just overwhelm. Whether you’re trying to make ends meet or you’re re-evaluating how to spend what you’ve been given, money is never just about math. It’s tied to our values, our hopes, our fears, and our ability to trust.
And in a culture that pushes more, newer, faster, it’s easy to feel like what we have isn’t enough. But Scripture reminds us that our security doesn’t come from numbers in a spreadsheet—it comes from the God who promises to provide.
Jesus multiplied loaves and fish. He sent manna to a wilderness people. And today, he still invites us to rely on him, not just in spiritual matters, but in the very practical ones, too.
If you’re budgeting this week, staring at receipts, spreadsheets, or bank apps, here’s a prayer to help you breathe deep, seek wisdom, and remember that every dollar is part of a story God is writing with you.
“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you’” (Hebrews 13:5).
A Prayer for Budgeting
Faithful Provider, you multiplied loaves and fish and taught your people to gather just what they need. As I look at my finances, calm my anxieties, align my priorities, and teach me wisdom and discernment. Help me trust you in times of plenty and times of need. And may I remember that all I have is yours, meant to be stewarded with gratitude and generosity. Amen.
