A simple prayer is all it takes to connect with God every day. And if you don’t know how to pray, no worries! We’ve got you covered. Check out this simple prayer below to get started!

Where Do I Start Reading the Bible?

It can be hard to set up routines… and for some reason, routines feel especially tough when it comes to bible reading. We’ve tried the plans, the apps, the journals…

We get it. Finding the time, the energy, the quiet, or the ability to focus enough to make an encounter with scripture ✨ meaningful ✨ can be hard…

But, God’s not checking in to see if you’ve been reading your Bible every day and logging your streaks 🔥🔥🔥. He just wants to be in close relationship with you. And, honestly? Spending time with the good book—even if you miss a day or two—really does help us learn more about the one who loves us most.

Even if it doesn’t happen daily, and even if you don’t have the perfect atmosphere, we’ve found that asking God to come alongside us when we’re reading scripture makes the time that we *do* spend in the Bible truly intentional, transforming, and restoring.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path” (Psalm 119:105).

Here’s a prayer before reading the bible that might help you out too:

A Prayer Before Reading the Bible

Jesus, Word who became flesh, be present with me today as I encounter the written word. Open my ears to hear the message you have prepared for me. Open my eyes to see your love in every story, especially the tough ones. Let me not become trapped by my own knowledge, biases, or desire for merit, but keep my heart open to the guidance of your Spirit. And, Lord, as I continue to learn more about you through the Bible, help me be transformed by your love. Amen.
