A Prayer for When You’re Sick

SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE

Revelation 21:4 Trying to build a prayer life can be difficult—whether you don’t know how to pray or you don’t feel like praying. So we’re here to help you connect with God with simple prayers for the everyday.

God Is a Great Healer

A sore throat. A runny nose. Achiness. A fever. A headache.

That feeling when your nose is raw from blowing it into a tissue for the 1000th time. Blah!

It stinks to be sick. It’s one of those uncomfortable reminders that the world is still broken, and we’re waiting for God to truly make all things right

If you’re not feeling well today, we hope this verse and prayer for when you’re sick brings you a bit of comfort in between bowls of chicken noodle soup and whatever show you’re binging on Netflix.

And if you’re not feeling sick, maybe save this for the day you know is coming or perhaps share it with a friend who’s not feeling well.

So this verse doesn’t actually include sickness, but we’re really hoping that’s what God meant when he said no more crying or pain!

‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (Revelation 21:4).

A Prayer for When You’re Sick

Great Physician, you knit us together, and you can knit us back together. Meet me now in this discomfort, this pain, this tangible reminder of broken realities. Grant me your peace, and help me trust you. I ask for healing Lord—healing on the inside and out. And I await the day when sin, death, and sickness are no more. Amen.
