SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE
The prayer life of a Christian can sometimes become tiresome, especially if you don’t feel like praying. We hope our simple prayers centered around everyday life will provide some guidance and help you grow in your prayer life.
Brain Health Matters
Many of us carry the burden of mental health struggles. Maybe you don’t have a diagnosed mental illness, but you know anxiety or depression have been creeping in where they’re not welcome. Or maybe, there have just been some days when it feels difficult to enjoy anything.
Our brains are a super important part of our bodies, and mental health is a big component of our brain health overall. And if you often feel stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, or unable to enjoy the simple pleasures of life, it might be time to find some professional help. But maybe you’re just looking for a first step to break the loop of heaviness in your mind and heart.
If that’s you, join us in inviting Jesus, and one another, to help carry the load.
“Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me,
for in you I take refuge.
I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings
until the disaster has passed” (Psalm 57:1).
A Prayer for Mental Health
Joy-maker, help me experience the pleasure of this day. Peace-giver, hush my anxious heart. Time-keeper, heal past hurts and help me trust you with tomorrow. God who knit together my brain and heart, guide both to rest and harmony. Open my eyes to see where I can join you in avoiding stressors, turning off screens, and eating well. And open my ears to hear your voice if I need to find professional help. Heal and strengthen my mind, O Lord. Amen.
*Note: We’re not experts on mental health. If you feel like you’ve been really struggling, or if life just feels a bit out of control, consider seeking the help of a therapist or medical professional.
