SUPPORTING SCRIPTURE
“Is the Bible relevant today?” Stories from hundreds of years ago, weird names, suuuuper long chapters. It doesn’t always feel relevant. But to read Scripture is another way for God to provide comfort, clarity, and wisdom. Scripture meditations like this one can help you figure out how to get started reading the Bible.
Jesus Came to Bring Life
What kind of friend is Jesus?
He’s the kind of friend that cares deeply for our well-being. He’s with us through the messiest time of our lives and can handle the hardest questions we’ve got for him.
He’s also the kind of friend who wants to see us truly thrive on a deep emotional and spiritual level. He wants us to find fulfillment, joy, and abundance in the life he’s provided for us.
Today, we’re meditating on a verse in the Gospel of John where Jesus’ true intentions are made clear as day.
Let’s look together.
John 10:10
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
Observations from the Text
- The enemy has destruction on his mind
- Jesus wanted us to have life, so he came to us
- The life that Jesus offers is abundant
