What’s Next: Your Dream Job, God’s Call, and a Life That Sets You Free

$17.00

Description

Find fulfillment and freedom in your career and ministry as you discover God’s will for your life.

Scripture has outlined everything we need for guidance, direction, and a peace-filled life. What’s Next points you to God’s Word to help you move forward when life seems like it’s standing still.

Daniel Ryan Day found this to be true as he struggled to find God’s call on his life. Day had expected that “dream job” and “God’s call” would be the same. But what he discovered when he searched Scripture set him free from frustration so he could confidently step forward in God’s will.

Sometimes while we wait for clear-cut advice from the Almighty, we miss what He’s already directed us to do. Learn from Day’s experience and see how God’s directives can give you a life that sets you free.

What’s Next includes discussion questions to help you process what you’ve learned through Scripture and guide you toward your next steps.

If your spirit’s been feeling a bit dry, try this breath prayer with us. Create space to meet God in the quiet of this moment.

“My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?” (Psalm 42:2).

Breath Prayer is a way of aligning your breathing with a short prayer or psalm, in order to slow you down and draw you closer to God. You only need a line or two of scripture to help ground and comfort you in the truths of his nearness and his love.
Is it easier for you to pray for leaders who you voted for? Or leaders you 𝒅𝒊𝒅𝒏’𝒕 vote for?

For many of us, we pray hard for those we believe are the right fit, and only complain about those who aren’t. 😬 But when Christian author Paul wrote his encouraging letter to Timothy, he didn’t say, “Pray for leaders you believe in.” Paul encouraged Timothy to pray for 𝘢𝘭𝘭 leaders (which seems to include those who aren’t in elected positions too, like pastors, bosses, etc…).

And this is kind of nice, isn’t it? Because it means we don’t have to stress out about the decisions or policies of those in positions of authority.😌 Instead, we can bring our concerns to God, and leave our leaders in his hands. 👐

🙏So join us today, as we pray for our leaders, both the ones we voted for, and those we didn’t.

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness” (1 Timothy 2:1-2).

Ancient of Days, who holds time in your hands and has seen it all before, we lift up to you the decisions and policies of our government leaders. Specifically, help those we now name: __________. Guide them by your Holy Spirit to seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with you. Fill us with your peace and patience when they make decisions that we disagree with. And as we feel the uncomfortableness of living in a world that so often pursues the opposite of your wisdom and goodness, remind us that one day you will make all things right. Amen.

In a world that constantly tells us to want “more,” intentionally going without is one of the most radical things you can do. That’s what we do when we fast: we empty ourselves so we can have more room for God and pursue him with a purposeful focus.
