Frequently Asked Questions

Can this count as college credit?

While these workshops don’t count as college credit, they will look great on a resume! They also offer opportunities to put what you’re learning in college into practice, and to learn directly from professionals in your chosen field.

What should I bring to the workshop?

Bring your laptop, charger, a notebook, and snacks to share. (Just kidding about the snacks. But if you did, Watermelon Sour Patch Kids are our fave.)

What software do I need?

For writers: any word processing software, like Microsoft Word or Google Docs will do the trick!

For designers, here’s helpful software to have:

Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Affinity Designer (cheap!)
Canva (free!)

What about food and lodging?

Your $100 contribution, paid to your institution, will cover everything (except snacks in the mini-bar and any day trips to Disney). ABHE will handle lodging, and you’ll have vouchers for meals. Contact your institution for questions about payment. And if you don’t know who to contact from your institution, maybe start with a professor or advisor!

What's the dress code?

It’s a good idea to have 1-2 business casual outfits packed (a nicer shirt/dress, and dark jeans or khakis) for dinners in the evening.

But, during our workshop days, you can dress casually (jeans, sweaters, t-shirts), but no sweatpants, tank tops, or kilts, please. Also, it is Florida, so leave your parkas behind!

Can I bring my friend, roommate, or Disney-obsessed little sister?

No…😬

Brenna Holsclaw

Brenna Holsclaw is the Content Manager, for Reclaim Today. Her workdays are full of her favorite things: reading, writing, and learning more about Jesus. She has a background in English with a Master’s in Literacy Studies. Brenna lives in Michigan with her husband, three boys, and baby girl (seen here in utero). In her free time, you’ll find her consuming copious amounts of coffee, hunting for fancy mushrooms, writing stories, and intentionally looking for beauty in everyday moments.

Katharine Watson

Kat Watson is a designer who graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design. During her time at KCAD, she studied under fashion photographer, Romeo Di Loreto, in Florence, Italy. Later, she enjoyed studying traditional art forms, such as printmaking and illustration. Nominated for silver and bronze Addy awards, Kat is a skilled designer with an eye for detail that goes beyond the limits of a screen. On the side, she is recording her first EP in Franklin, Tennessee. If not designing, you will find Kat enjoying a Michigan summer, creating music, or sharing a meal with friends.
