Ahhhhhhh!!! You’ve got a house!! Okay, well maybe it isn’t house. Or, maybe it isn’t even a “house”… And, maybe this isn’t even a new thing. But either way!
You have a ! An opportunity to make some memories, to show hospitality, to put down some roots– maybe even some literal ones .
We’d invite you to take some time to bless your home. To spend less time worrying about the Instagram perfect decor or keeping it spotless (people LIVE there, for goodness sake!), and to consider all the ways you’d like it to be filled instead:
“By wisdom a house is built,
and through understanding it is established;
through knowledge its rooms are filled
with rare and beautiful treasures” (Proverbs 24:3-4).
A Prayer for Blessing a Home
Lord who is preparing my eternal dwelling, thank you for this taste of heaven on earth. Bless this home with laughter. Bless it with friendship. Bless it with good meals and even better conversation. May it bring shelter and peace. May we experience comfort and safety. May all who enter through this door feel the warmth of your presence. May they leave feeling known and loved by me and you. Amen.
